A little afternoon riding

I had a long split shift so I went out for a quick ride this Sunday. I met up with a few local guys (didn't know them). Had some fun helping them fix a busted up carbide/runner on one of their skis. Good snow in the shade. Did some experiments with the GoPro head cam. Found some super lousy shots and a few good shots.

Red and White March 24th

Not too many pics, (sorry). We went up to Red and White with Sludge, Todd (sugar snow) Moyer, Sarah (the Tsunamy), Jay Lucas and myself (Ratz). Decent snow, 5 inches, but it was set up underneath in most places. It made for some hairy carving. Sarah was feeling under the weather and got wore out pretty quick so we had to cut the day short. Once again, I only have video/pictures of the wife (we still got some good shots). There is probably some psychological condition for only getting film of my significant other and I apologize to the guys for not getting more video/pictures of them most recently. We'll try to fix this in the future.

Some video of Sarah in the trees. See if you can count how many trees get a clipping. Now with a broken bumper on her Polaris (due to a tree) she seems to be taking out some anger. Don't worry, the trees will be just fine. TURN UP THE SOUND

South Fork / Wolf Creek sledding trip

Great weekend out of town. Tsunamy (Sarah), Todd (sugar snow) Moyer and Ratz went on a road trip to South Fork, CO down by Wolf Creek pass and ski area. They have been getting lots of snow down south this winter and we wanted to check it out the area for riding. All the snow was set up as it is everywhere in Colorado at the moment due to the warm weather. So the snow wasn't deep or anything, but we still found some soft snow here and there. Incredible area, big bowls, some big fields, technical riding, lots of long hill climbs and lots of snow. We were riding up to 12,000 feet in some areas. We'll be back.

Waconia high school pals in Vail

My high school friends (all taller than I) from Waconia High school were out in Vail this past weekend. It was a great time! A little skiing, a little drinking, a little snowmobiling and lots of sunshine. And like usual, only one of us got laid this weekend. Since it was a guys trip, there was very little picture taking. Great picnic up on Blue Sky Basin. Awesome Minturn mile, (even if it was in pretty bad condition). Enjoy the movie with all the 80s music that we listened to all weekend long.

The movie, click on it a couple of times to open in another window, full size.

Flattops March 10th

Fun day up on the Flattops, but nothing too crazy. We still need snow around the Vail area, big time. Snow was a bit set-up and it was difficult sledding. They have plenty of snow in southern Colorado but we are still being missed by many of these storms coming through. Sludge, Sarah, Adam Baker and I. Sludge's sled ran great after he made the recent repairs on his reeds. Sarah wisely took it easy today and saved her body for another day. Not too many pictures. We ended up doing 60 miles. Found some soft snow but little powder out there. Testing out the new toy (headcam). Need to direct it a little higher (sorry) and we had it mounted in areas on the helmet that created too much movement. None-the-less, check out the movie.

It 'll take awhile to download, so click on it, pause it, then clean your bathroom while it down loads. Then come back and check it out. Remember to "turn it up" and make it full screen if you can.

If some of you are unaware, there was a bit of a rock slide (pictures here) a few days ago in Glenwood Canyon, near where we were snowmobiling. The interstate has been closed for two days now. Not a problem for us, but for those that need to go to Glenwood Springs it takes 5 hours instead of 1 hour. Ouch.
