1st trip to the desert, this year: Fruita, CO

1st trip to the desert this year: great hiking on Dinosaur Hill in Fruita, swimming at their rec center pool and mountain-biking/strider riding on 18 road.
Indy hiked yesterday the whole loop on Dinosaur Hill (a little over 1 mile!) by HIMSELF(!). 

We are sooo very proud of him!!! 

Then he swam a ton at the pool and took a 2 hrs nap (yes!).

Today we went biking on 18 road and he did great on the strider (almost a mile too) and then he was shooting people with his squirt gun and playing baseball too (sorry, no pics of that one). 

 We also checked out the Children's Nature Center in Fruita and... he had another 2+ hrs nap in the car on the way back. He woke up just while we were entering the garage and started screaming: 

"I don't wanna go home! I wanna go back out there, on ROAD TRIP!!!"

Something is telling me that he liked it... as always. :)  

Although he missed his buddies Zandra & Oliver. Well, next time they'll come too (I hope!).

After watching great fireworks in Golden Peak (Indy's 1st: he loved them!!!) 

and a very yummy dinner at our friends' Chris & Glenn, 

we HAD TO HAVE THE(!) ITALIAN HOLIDAY CAKE: 

PANETTONE!!!

And Indy did his best to devour him 

(with mommy's help too, or he'd have not have gone to bed last night with all the sugar high!).
